WELD TOE QUALITY GAUGES

To assure a high and even quality it is necessary to use gauges securing repeatability of your procedures and a fulfillment of the specified requirements.

To remove potential defects at the weld toe we recommend a controlled undercut created with Micro-burr grinding and/or HFMI. The quality control procedure is the following:

  1. Visually inspect see that no defects are present in the undercut with the help of a LED-torch.
  2. Control the undercut depth with our Depth gauge and backlight from the LED-torch. Recommended depth is 0.2 to 0.4 mm
  3. Judge the radius of the undercut transition in the same way with our Radius Gauge. We recommend a radius larger than 1 mm for all procedures but for some applications it can be beneficial to use larger radiuses.

If you do not find the weld quality gauge you are looking for here,  let us know, and we can develop a gauge for your needs!
